Gasoline hits $70 per barrel

With all the talk of rising fuel prices, I found an interesting pdf that shows the demand of gasoline for a number of countries. Most of Europe has a heavy tax system on gas to encourage conservation, while the US has focused on increasing the average miles per gallon of the cars sold. It looks like demand in the US has increased in the last few years, while demand in England and Spain has actually fallen. I'd read elsewhere that gasoline in England is currently $6.00 after taxes.
